The Grove’s Property Manager

Having a property manager retained by the HOA board of a large community is very common, as the HOA board are neighbors who volunteer on the board. Superior Management Group (SMG) has been retained by The Grove HOA Board to do the following:

  • pay bills & collect dues

  • obtain bids for contractual repairs & scheduling of repairs

  • mailings

  • attend and help facilitate HOA Board meetings and the annual association meeting

Multiple associates at SMG will be monitoring the Board email address: Contact@theGroveElkhorn.com. They can also be reached by phone at: 402-575-5525.

We look forward to increased responsiveness to all homeowner needs with the help of SMG.

My wife Patty and I have lived in The Grove since 2005. My initial interest for involvement on the SID 438 Board of Directors was-and-remains to improve the maintenance, appearance and overall are attractiveness of The Grove neighborhood. I am able to contribute my career experience in Architecture-Engineering and Construction to assist with the overall maintenance and improvement projects within The Grove neighborhood.

  • Ray Filipowicz

My wife Karen and I have lived in the Grove since 2012. I joined both the HOA and SID boards in 2014. My goals in joining the boards were to help maintain and improve our community and property values by improving neighborhood and park appearances. The HOA and SID boards working together have accomplished these objectives while at the same time lowering our tax levy. Thank you for the trust and confidence of my fellow residents.

  • Scott Wedergren

Scott Wedergren has been a resident of the Grove since 2004. He is a founding member of the Grove Homeowners Association where he presently serves as Treasurer. Scott is also on the Board of the Sanitary Improvement District (SID) of the Grove, Douglas County SID #438. He presently serves as Clerk of the SID. Scott has been a Board member of the SID since 2008.

  • Dwayne Meyer

My wife, Tara, and I have lived in The Grove neighborhood for nearly 20 years. We have one teenage son who attends Elkhorn South. The Grove appealed to us because of the school district, its openness, and access and proximity to the Dodge Street corridor. We have seen this neighborhood grow and develop from its early infancy.

I am a licensed architect within several states and I have been practicing healthcare architecture for nearly 25 years. I have designed and developed hospitals and clinics in numerous states and have had the good fortune of working on more regional and in-state projects over the past decade.

My pastime is anything outdoors from camping and fishing to just enjoying time at home in our backyard. I enjoy cooking anything and everything, gardening, home brewing when I find the time, as well as canning a few select family recipes.

My interest for involvement in the HOA was to increase and maintain cohesiveness throughout the neighborhood while still encouraging homeowners to create their own distinct uniqueness to their properties.

Our History

To fully understand and appreciate where The Grove is today, it is important to share some historical information about the subdivision’s original developer.

Benchmark Homes, Inc. was the original developer of The Grove who started building homes in The Grove in 2000.  In 2006, after the passing of Jack Czerwinski, Benchmark’s president and founder, Benchmark Homes declared bankruptcy.   The bankruptcy had a cascading adverse impact on lenders, contractors, subcontractors as well as current and prospective residents of Benchmark properties, including The Grove.

Fortunately, The Grove was sufficiently built-out at the time of the bankruptcy and located in a very desirable West Omaha location. Thus, in June 2006, Tom Falcone and a group of builders came together and purchased both The Grove and The Villas at The Grove.  The Villas at The Grove have a separate association and are not part of The Grove HOA and this website.

The Grove HOA was incorporated in 2000 and from that date until August of 2010, the association was under the control of the Czerwinski family.  In 2010, control of The Grove HOA was transitioned to Tom Falcone with the appointment of an interim board and the first annual meeting was held on 8/26/2010 with the election of a permanent board, and the approval of a budget for 2010.

Since 2010, the Board of the HOA has been comprised of Grove homeowners who strive to maintain our neighborhood at a high level. Each year, there is an annual meeting where homeowners of The Grove are encouraged to attend. Those meetings will be advertised on this site and also disclosed with a letter to each homeowner. During the year, the Board meets on a regular basis to discuss any ongoing issues within the neighborhood and encourages homeowners to reach out via the email listed below if there are any issues. With the introduction of this new website, the Board hopes to have ongoing communication with homeowners throughout the neighborhood about social events, meetings, projects, and other various issues that come up.

Let’s all enjoy The Grove together!
